The short version

The app doesn't ask for your name or email. It saves how you're getting on with your cards, so your progress isn't lost and we can see whether the app helps. If you join the waitlist on our website, we keep your email to tell you once when the beta opens. No ads, no cookies, and nothing is sold.

What we save

In the app: when you first open it, it makes an account for this browser without asking you anything. It's only a random code, not your name. Linked to that code, we save:

  • which cards you've answered, how you rated them, and when
  • when you start and finish a session, and how many cards it had
  • when you open the app and when you last used it
  • problems you report on a card, and feedback you send

Your settings (topics, light or dark, fun mode) and your flags stay on this device only.

The website and the waitlist

If you join the waitlist on simplistick.app, we save your email address, the subjects you picked, the link you came from (for example one from Instagram) and when you signed up. We use your email only to tell you once when the beta opens. Write to us and we'll remove it.

The website counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you: it only sees things like which page was opened, which link you came from, and your country and type of device.

What we don't save

In the app: no name, email, phone number, photos, contacts or location. No cookies and no trackers from other companies, in the app or on the website. Please don't write anything personal in a report or feedback.

Why

To run the app: decide which cards to show you next and keep your progress safe. And to improve it: for example, how many students come back after a week, and which cards are the hardest. We only look at these numbers for the whole app, never to find out who you are.

Where it's kept

The database is run by Supabase, on servers in the EU. The app and the website are served by Vercel. Like any website, they see your internet address (IP address) when you connect, and keep it briefly in their logs. A weekly backup of the database is kept for 90 days.

If you're under 16

You can use the app: it doesn't need your name, shows no ads and doesn't track you. It's still a good idea to show this page to a parent or guardian.

Your rights

You can ask to see your data at any time: write to us. You can delete your app data yourself, in the app under Settings → Privacy. To leave the waitlist, write to us.
